Control panel – the brains behind a Liebherr appliance. An intelligent electronic device that communicates with other parts of the appliance. It tells other elements what to do and shows you what it is doing via the display. And they are designed simple to use. Better yet, in most cases they have picture icons that help indicate what the function button does. So who needs an instruction manual? Well in all seriousness, everyone should read the instruction manual at least once or twice, before it’s buried in the manual drawer. But after that, you should have no trouble operating your Liebherr appliance.

What functions and features are operated by the Liebherr brain (control panel)?

It is no longer about the flick of a switch to power your appliance on and off. Or turning a dial to select ideal temperatures. With the touch of a button – your wish is its command.

  1. DIMMABLE LED LIGHTING

Lighting so bright you need sunglasses? No problem. Many Liebherr appliances feature dimmable LED. So you can adjust the LED lighting to suit the time of day or night

  2. DISPLAY BRIGHTNESS

Many Liebherr fridges and wine cellars displays feature adjustable display brightness. So the visual display can be reduced or increased depending on requirements. Sometimes a little light goes a long way.

  3. SELECTING TEMPERATURES

Temperature selection is easy. So press the arrow up – temperature increases. And press the arrow down – temperature reduces. Surely it couldn’t be easier?

  4. DISPLAYED TEMPERATURE

The temperature displayed on a Liebherr wine cellar or fridge control panel will only ever be the ACTUAL temperature of the interior of the appliance. So, when you first select a temperature (example 4 degrees) it will display for a few seconds. Then it will revert back to the ACTUAL temperature the appliance currently is (let’s say 10). It will then continue to change numbers until it reaches the desired temperature. So for example 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, and 4 degrees… bingo!. This is also handy if you’ve had a power outage, to see just how warm your fridge or freezer has reached – so you can make decisions about the contents.

  5. ALARM FUNCTIONS

Depending on the model a series of alarms will alert you. This can either be visually and / or audibly when a door is left ajar or the temperature varies. In the unlikely event the appliance malfunctions an alarm will sound or display.

  6. SPECIAL FEATURES

Activate special features such as SuperCool and SuperFrost via the control panel.

  7. PROTECT YOUR FOOD AND WINE

Activate the child lock via the control panel. Pushing buttons will yield no results! So this stops little fingers from changing temperatures or switching the appliance off.

  8. FRIENDLY REMINDERS

When the occasion arises for a water or dust filter change a little indicator will appear on the display (selected models only). Now we aren’t being pushy, but the little indicator will remain until you’ve tackled the reminder task and selected to remove the notification from display. So you better get moving.

  9. COOLER OR WARMER BIOFRESH

If you find the BioFresh drawer is a little too cool or warm for your liking, adjust the temperature slightly via the BioFresh control panel between b1 (coldest) to b9 (warmest). Likewise for models equipped with BioFreshPlus with the choice of u1 (coldest) to u9 (warmest). But just remember anything below b5/u5 values and the temperature can drop below 0°C resulting in slight food freezing.

A Liebherr control panel does all the above and even more, depending on the model. Download operation manuals via the website to learn more about a specific Liebherr appliance.
