Fathers might have this notion that they are less appreciated. Let’s prove them wrong by showing them how much we appreciate them. Level up your special treat for dad this Father’s day with the cocktails and smoothies recipes below. Because our dads truly deserve a drink or two.

Coffee cooler

You’ll never go wrong with coffee and whiskey. Serve this during brunch or anytime of the day. Cause really, coffee and whiskey don’t need any reason to be enjoyed.

What you’ll need: 5 cups strong brewed coffee (chilled), 4 cups root beer (chilled), 1 cup Jagermeister liquer, ½ cup vodka, ½ cup half-and-half (chilled), lemon peel twists

How to make it: Pour 4 cups of chilled coffee into two ice cube trays, freeze. Combine the remaining 1 cup chilled coffee, root beer, Jagermeister and vodka in a large pitcher. Cover and chill. To serve, add the coffee ice cubes into small glasses and pour the root beer mixture over. Drizzle with half-and-half and garnish with lemon peel twists.

Ginger Beer Shandy

Dads will no doubt enjoy this fresh take on a classic shandy, with a twist – ginger ale!

If desired, wipe rims of glasses or mugs with a lime wedge and dip rims in finely chopped crystallized ginger. Garnish with lime wedges.

The Godfather

It’s a simple yet sophisticated way to spice up the average glass of scotch that dads will surely love. Some would even say that this cocktail was inspired by the famous mafia movie of the same name. It might even be true that Marlon Brando drank it regularly.

Smoothies for dads, because as much as we want to spoil them, they absolutely need our tender, loving care.

Mango Grape Carrot Smoothie

Surprise dad with this refreshing mango-carrot smoothie that will make him glowing for the rest of the day. Because really, when have you ever done something to pamper that sweet man who raised you.

How to make it: Combine all ingredients in a blender, puree on high speed until smooth. Pour into glasses and garnish with lemon slices.

Pineapple Spinach Smoothie

Dads might not be the biggest fans of greens, but this smoothie will hopefully change their perception. The sweetness of pineapple conceals the spinach, you won’t even realise it’s in there. Well except for the green colour but that’s beside the point. This smoothie is a good replacement for a breakfast boost.
