Targeted humidity for specific foods
Humidity regulation in BioFresh drawers makes it possible to individually set the humidity in DrySafes or HydroSafes.
DrySafes with low humidity (dry climate) are ideal for storing meat, fish and dairy products. When the slider is open, the humidity drops and the BioFresh safe becomes a DrySafe. When stored in this relatively dry environment, these products retain their flavour for much longer than in a standard refrigerator compartment. For instance Beef, Game, Lamb, Pork and Veal can all be stored for up to 7 days compared to just 1 day in a standard refrigerator compartment.
Meanwhile, fruit and vegetables are optimally stored, unpacked, in the BioFresh HydroSafe. Fruit and vegetables have a high water content, and this should be preserved during storage. When the HydroSafe is compactly filled, an environment with a humidity level of up to 90% is created, so the moisture in the food is retained, keeping it crisp and fresh for much longer.
Keeping food fresh for much longer
Kiwi fruit stored in a BioFresh HydroSafe retains its delicate flavour, vitamin content and appetising appearance for 80 days, compared to only 40 days under normal storage conditions! An alpine cheese stays fresh for 10 days in a normal refrigerator compartment, but for an incredible 110 days in a BioFresh DrySafe!

The BioFresh app provides free useful information about food and food storage. The app tells you everything you need to know about foods and their vitamin content, and gives shelf life comparisons for conventional refrigeration versus BioFresh storage. Accessing nutritional information about fruit, vegetables, meat, fish and dairy products has never been so easy; the vitamin and mineral content of 130 different foods can be viewed by simply tapping the screen, and you can search for favourite foods or products that contain specific vitamins.
