When developing Liebherr products, we give serious consideration to the interplay of material, form and proportion, and to the effect the appliance has in this regard. We bring to market appliances enriching their environment with balanced lighting concepts, high quality materials and coherent design. Real innovation comes from a preparedness to consider various components, both from an implicit perspective and from an encompassing perspective.
With this understanding as a basis, Liebherr develops its ideas. Design studies are showcased at trade fairs to both trade partners and end users. They are further enhanced, incorporating the feedback we receive. Only after this are they prepared for series production. We also receive highly valuable feedback about our technology and design quality through participation in international design competitions. With more than 60 years of experience in the refrigeration and freezing sector, Liebherr has vast know-how when it comes to manufacturing contemporary, innovative and high quality products. Classic Color Variations
Liebherr is at the vanguard: Many of our appliances are offered in stainless steel or BlackSteel. Our wine cabinets are also available in polished Terra, intense Bordeaux Red or Matt Black. BlackSteel – Black Stainless Steel
With BlackSteel, Liebherr has created a modern interpretation of the classic stainless steel front. These distinguished appliances set themselves apart with their striking black coloring and special polished finish. The coarse transverse polished finish creates wonderful optical accents and has a very appealing feel. BlackSteel editions feature the patented Liebherr bar handle, with integrated opening mechanism, in complementary aluminum.
GlassEdition
Whether in cool white or elegant black, the reflective glass fronts of GlassEdition appliances are manufactured using back-printed glass. This material not only confers a spectacular appearance to the appliance, it is also easy-to-clean and scratch resistant. In order to maintain the full visual impact of the glass front, the grip handles are positioned at the side. The black GlassEdition models harmonize particularly well with minimalist stainless steel surfaces and look wonderful in kitchens with a grey or black theme. White GlassEdition models contrast sensationally with wooden kitchen furniture.
ColourLine – a palette of Inspiration
Liebherr first presented prototypes of our ColourLine-Edition at IFA 2014. Trade fair visitors voted for their favorite colors. The three most popular, WaterBlue, AvocadoGreen and FireRed, were made commercially available in some markets. These refrigerators bring colourful accents to kitchens and living areas.

Liebherr products have particularly lasting ‘long-life value’. To ensure that we continually stay true to our high quality standards, we evaluate every design in terms of customer benefits and user-friendliness. Do customers like our product? Is the design in line with current trends, yet offering a long service life? How do the materials used stand up to daily use? Before an appliance goes into production, we put every design and every component to the test. Our appliances are not only visually stunning and made from the highest quality materials. They are also suitable for daily use, easy-to-clean and intuitive to use.

Effective Interior Lighting
Our interior lighting is designed to offer homogeneous illumination throughout the appliance. We have developed a special lighting concept, which is space-efficiently integrated into the inner container. Stored foods are bathed in a delightfully pleasing light. Further, the interior lighting in our glass door appliances can be dimmed and hence contribute to atmospheric room lighting.
Uncompromising. Right Down to the Finest Details
From our combination appliances to our compact appliances, we attach great importance to every small but crucial detail. That goes for our technology as well as our design. Liebherr’s patented bar handle is an example of our non compromising attitude towards both utility and design. With the bar handle, form and function go hand-in-hand. The aluminium handle itself is particularly ergonomic. Its sophisticated mechanism allows the refrigerator door to be opened with ease. As ever, the maxim of design following function plays a central role. Design gives products an identity and makes them unique. The design quality of Liebherr appliances is revealed in a multitude of details, like our perfect stainless steel finishing. Liebherr has gained a wealth of expertise within the context of manufacturing commercial appliances. In this sector, for reasons of hygiene and easy cleaning, the use of stainless steel is a prerequisite. Liebherr has developed, through experience, the expertise required to ensure perfect workmanship. Almost all Liebherr stainless steel door surfaces have a SmartSteel finish, which provides scratch resistance and reduces the visibility of fingerprints.
In true pioneering spirit, Liebherr was the inventor of BioFresh technology. BioFresh safes provide the ideal storage conditions for sensitive foods by offering a constant temperature of just above 32°F and adjustable humidity levels. All inner containers in Liebherr appliances have a smooth, seamless finish, designed for hygiene and easy cleaning. When it comes to temperature control, Liebherr attaches great importance to intuitive operation. All icons used on both traditional button-keys and touch controls are clearly visible, and they correlate with each function.
Liebherr was the very first manufacturer to utilize LED lighting columns. They provide an economical, long-life light source that softly and evenly illuminates the entire interior. The cool quality of the light visually corresponds to the coolness inside the appliance.
Natural Interior Materials
Natural materials, such as wood, are not only highly durable. They also provide a homely ambiance. Our wine cabinets store red, white and rosé wines on shelves made from natural beech. The presentation shelves in our humidors are crafted from Spanish cedar, guaranteeing optimum storage conditions. In our refrigerators and freezers, a large proportion of the interior fittings feature dishwasher-safe, scratch-resistant, and shatterproof safety glass.
