The year is 1955: Employees at the original Ochenhausen planet have proudly gathered for a group photo. They are celebrating the 1000th refrigerator leaving the assembly line.
During the first full year of production, from 1955 to 1956, 4,500 refrigerators were produced. The Ochsenhausen facility now has a daily output of 4,500 refrigerators, and Liebherr refrigerators are made at three additional sides in Lienz, Austria, Marica, Bulgaria and Kulang, Malaysia. Over 2 million Liebherr refrigerators are produced annually.
Refrigerators and freezers intended for the North American residential market are all manufactured in Ochsenhausen and Lienz.
