Preparation

Wash, halve and deseed the chillies, then finely chop.

Step: 2/9

Peel and dice the onion and garlic.

Heat 4 tbsp olive oil in a saucepan and saute the onion and garlic until softened and translucent.

Wash and dice the tomatoes.

Step: 5/9

Dice the bacon very finely.

Add to the pan and fry briefly. Add the tomatoes. Stir in the tomato paste, salt and pepper and simmer for 10 minutes.

In the meantime, cook the penne in boiling salted water according to the pack instructions. Drain and mix with the remaining olive oil.

Pour the sauce through a sieve. Mix with the pasta.

Serve garnished with basil strips and sprinkled with fresh Parmesan.
