For many years, I’ve worked in high end gastronomy. I was known as one of the leading European sommeliers during that time. Receiving the ‘Master Sommerlier’ title in 1996 was a crowning achievement, the highest qualification you can get in my field. These days, I work mainly as consultant in the wine- and gastronomy industry. I am a published author of books on the topics of wine and liquor, and I am the first German to have ever been admitted to the British Circle of Wine Writers.
