We’re sure you’re familiar with the following kitchen scenario: You close a drawer or door using too much force. The resulting slam makes you wish you hadn’t. If it was the refrigerator door that you were a little too forceful with, there’s a shudder and a jangle. You wonder what damage you might have done. If only you had an appliance with soft-closing!

Liebherr understands this. That’s why SoftSystem closing is a feature on several of our models. SoftSystem ensures the appliance’s door closes quietly and gently, even with fully stocked door shelves. It provides automatic door closure from a designated opening angle. We’ve all been to the fridge to get something and gave the door a light shove to close. Later we realized that the door didn’t fully close. Warm air has been coming in! SoftSystem soft-closing prevents this. The inside of your fridge remains cold, ensuring optimal energy efficiency.

Automatic Closure Angles For Various Appliance Types:

Built-in appliances (IF EQUIPPED):
On our built-in refrigerators, freezers and wine appliances, the door automatically closes upon reaching an opening angle of about 30°.

Freestanding appliances (IF EQUIPPED):
On our freestanding refrigerators, freezers and wine appliances, the door automatically closes upon reaching an opening angle of about 30°.

An additional benefit of our soft-closing mechanism is a significant reduction in risk of injury due to doors suddenly falling or slamming shut.
